About Kansas Book Depository
Preserve · Rehome
Kansas Book Depository is an appointment-based center for books, collections, and printed history in Overland Park, Kansas.
It gives people and organizations a safe place to begin when a collection is ready to leave its original home—and gives worthwhile books and printed history the chance to be recognized before they are lost.

Our background
A regional home for books and collections.
Kansas Book Depository grew from our work through About Those Books. After years of acquiring, researching, and selling books, we encountered a recurring question: what should happen when a collection is ready to leave its original home?
In 2026, that work took on a new scale when we acquired the inventory of Oddfellow’s Fine Books in Topeka—thousands of books, maps, prints, and reference materials entrusted to our care. The collection affirmed the need for a dedicated place where books and historical materials could be received, evaluated, and thoughtfully prepared for what comes next.
Kansas Book Depository provides that regional home. Here, collections are considered as a whole, significant materials are identified and preserved, and books are guided toward their next chapter through acquisition, donation, or responsible rehoming.

About Those Books
Two connected organizations. Two distinct purposes.
About Those Books is our retail bookselling business. Its eBay store serves buyers worldwide and currently offers more than 1,300 carefully researched items, including rare, collectible, vintage, and specialty books as well as maps and prints.
At Glenwood Antique Mall, the About Those Books booth offers visitors a different experience: an approachable, locally curated selection of vintage and used books chosen for browsing, gifting, and discovery.
About Those Books is a Professional Member of the Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA).

Kansas Book Depository is a privately operated regional initiative. Through selected book-rehoming efforts, we support Kansas Audio-Reader Network and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City.
